Writing Now | Reading Now presents author Kerry Jones

Join us to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Wichita State’s MFA Program as Kerry Jones (MFA 2000) reads from “The Last Innocent Year,” winner of Southeast Missouri State University’s Nilsen Prize.

The reading takes place on Wednesday, September 27, with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 6 p.m. This free event takes place in the Beren Gallery at the Ulrich Museum of Art.

Jones’s fiction has won the Richard Yates Short Story Award and appeared in Sycamore Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, and Bryant Literary Review Quarterly. Adam Prince, author of “The Beautiful Wishes of Ugly Men,” praises “The Last Innocent Year” as a “startling debut,” one that “takes us right to the brink — of childhood and adulthood, yes, but also pleasure and pain, truth and fiction, victim and perpetrator, past and present.” Writing Now/Reading Now is cosponsored by the WSU Department of English, Fairmount College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Watermark Books & Cafe, and the Ulrich Museum of Art.
