Sign number 28: Social Justice in Our Community, a community talk by Pauline Sharp Led by members of the Kaw Nation in collaboration with the City of Lawrence, University of Kansas, Spencer Museum of Art, Kanza Heritage Society and others, the Sacred Red Rock Project is focused upon the return and relocation of the red Siouxan quartzite boulder currently located in Robinson Park in Lawrence to the Kaw Nation, who have a centuries long relationship with the rock and value it as a sacred item of prayer. Pauline Sharp, a citizen of Kaw Nation and past vice-president of the Kaw Nation Cultural Committee, will discuss the relocation project and what it means to Kaw Nation.
