Earn points by attending or participating in the Shocktoberfest Kick-Off, Bonfire, Pickleball Tournament, The Roast, Softball and Baseball Scrimmage, the Parade, and other events. The 1st place team will win $1000, the 2nd place team will win $500, and the 3rd place team will win $250. Come down to the Arkansas River and watch the Shocker Rowing team battle it out in the Class Races. Saturday, September 28th at 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at River Vista Boathouse on 150 N McLean Boulevard, Wichita, Kansas. The Class Races will start off this event with a competition between the Freshmen and Seniors battling it out for victory. Learn to Row with a current rower and have a chance to experience what rowing on the water is like. Learn to Row will start at approximately 3:30 P.M. Rowing lesson tickets, $30 a person, are available for purchase through wichita.edu/shockerrowing.
Did you know the Rhatigan Student Center offers a daily study room for students? Each day, the RSC designates an open meeting room as the official “study room” of the day. The room will be unlocked and open to students to come and go as they please to study all day. This is to be a quiet, shared space. Check our Instagram stories @wsursc daily to find out which room is the study room.
The Rie Bloomfield Organ Series welcomes its first Distinguished Guest Artist, Jens Korndörfer, to perform on Tuesday, September 17th at 7:30 p.m. in Wiedemann Hall. Dr. Korndörfer is the associate professor of organ at Baylor University in Texas and who has a full schedule as guest recitalist in North America and Europe. Graduating this semester? Submit your application for degree. Graduate students who plan to complete all degree requirements this semester must file an application for degree and pay the $25 filing fee with debit or credit card. This needs to be done no later than Monday, September 16th. Submit your application for degree even if you have a plan of study pending to be approved or have not submitted a plan of study. To submit your application for degree, log into the myWSU portal and click on the “myClasses” tab. This Great Plains Model United Nations Conference allows you to take on the role of diplomats from a foreign country in a simulation of UN committee meetings. This conference allows you to hone your skills in research, writing, public speaking, and negotiation. The Shocker State Fair will be on 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13 in the Charles Koch Arena Parking Lot. This is the Office of First-Year Programs' first of three Transition Mentor Meet-Ups and will include inflatables, axe throwing, football pass, battle dome, photo booth, petting zoo, bucket dump, carnival snacks, games, and various campus organizations and offices will be tabling.

WSU School of Performing Art's Jo Zakas Musical Theatre Incubator Program is thrilled to present a workshop production of Express, an original new musical by Wichita native Arri Lawton Simon and his writing partner Janine McGuire.
