Join the Community Service Board volunteering at the United Way GIV Warehouse.

Come and join the Community Service Board volunteering at the United Way GIV Warehouse. The United Way Give Items of Value (GIV) Program accepts donated items from companies and offers them at no charge to nonprofits throughout the state. The United Way GIV program distributes $400,000 to $1 million worth of donated items each year to more than 100 area nonprofits (including agencies not funded by United Way). GIV partners with Good 360 to obtain donated products from national retailers. Volunteers will meet at the GIV Warehouse to sort and organize items so that they may be given to local nonprofits. Service opportunities will be held on Friday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Nov. 8 from 2:30-4:30. Please sign up through Volunteer ICT.

Clayton Staples Gallery presents Illustrated Nature

The Clayton Staples Gallery's second exhibition of the fall semester, "Illustrated Nature," will be on view from Wednesday, October 16th to Friday, November 22nd. Located in McKnight Art Center room 205, "Illustrated Nature" is a collection of artworks by Joanne Price, printmaker and owner of Starpointe Studio. Joanne Price will be presenting an artist talk in conjunction with the exhibition on Thursday, October 24th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Mcknight Art Center room 210, with a reception to immediately follow until 6:00 p.m. The Clayton Staples Gallery is open to the public 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Join Wichita Clean Stream’s, Wichita RiverWalk Cleanup Crew on Saturday, October 12th and Saturday, November 9th from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will meet for a morning of cleaning up the area around the Arkansas and Little Arkansas River. Volunteers will meet at a location determined before the event and be given exact location via email before the event. Gloves and materials will be provided. Please wear closed toe shoes and pants. During this event all volunteers will be expected to wear a mask and abide by social distancing guidelines set forth by the University and Wichita Clean Streams.
