Provide a holiday gift for a local child or adult through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, hosted by the Shocker Store. The program will be a hybrid this year, with the angel selection process being online but the gifts being returned in store. If you are interested in sponsoring a child or adult, visit bit.ly/angeltreeRSC2025 and select an angel from the Shocker Store virtual Angel Tree. Once you “claim” that angel, purchase the suggested gift(s) listed for that individual and bring it back to the Shocker Store (either RSC or Braeburn Square location) by Tuesday, Dec. 2. Wichita State’s Student Government Association presents Social Safety Week, happening November 10 through 13 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center. The week features interactive events focused on health, safety, and wellness. On Monday, learn practical strategies for responsible drinking and safe socializing during Sip Safely: Alcohol Awareness with University Police. On Tuesday, stop by Student Health Services for Treat Yourself, Get Vaccinated to receive a flu shot, a wellness kit, and some candy. On Wednesday, join the Sexual Health and Wellness event to talk about consent and respect, get free STI testing, and enjoy an ice cream sundae bar while learning how to live and love well. On Thursday, the Substance Use Awareness session with the CARE Team will cover Narcan education and ways to recognize, respond to, and prevent substance-related emergencies. Social Safety Week is all about staying informed, making responsible decisions, and supporting one another in building a safer, healthier campus community.

Civic Canvases is a monthly, hands-on mural series where students reflect, create, and contribute to a monthly evolving mural. This activity will be held each month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the RSC main floor. Dr. Karlos K. Hill guides participants through a transformative approach to history — one rooted not in division or trauma alone, but in healing, deep relational understanding, and the wisdom of cooperation that has defined humanity for millions of years. Using the tragic legacy of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre as both a site of wounding and possibility, Dr. Hill illuminates “Healing History,” a revolutionary framework that merges evolutionary science, the wisdom of Ubuntu, and the lived experience of Greenwood’s descendants to foster real-world dialogue, healing, and justice. Are you 35-65 years old? Come participate in human subject testing in biomechanics to better understand the potential connection to a rolling style with various muscle strengths. The on-campus testing is around 45 minutes a session, is made up of four physical assessments, and there are bottles of water and snacks provided.
Wichita State University is offering a Summer 2026 European Travel Seminar from May 18 to 27, visiting France, Italy, and Spain. Students can earn 1 to 3 credit hours through COMM 398 or COMM 660AB, taught by Professor Eric Wilson. The trip is open to undergraduate and graduate students, with honors credit available. The program fee is about $4,910 and covers flights, lodging, local travel, guides, activities, and health insurance. Scholarships are available, and the application deadline is November 17, 2025.
