Paddles for Purpose 2026 is a pickleball tournament being hosted on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Chicken N' Pickle. Address is 1240 N Greenwich Rd, Wichita, KS 67206. All proceeds from this event will go to funding the Dreamers scholarship, which is a scholarship SLB awards to Wichita State students who demonstrate financial need while excelling in community involvement and academic excellence. Welcomefest takes place during the first four weeks of the fall and spring semesters and features dozens of activities. Popular programs awaiting new and returning Shockers include Winter Welcome, the Involvement Fair and much more. Hosted by various student groups and campus departments, most events are free and give all students a chance to get acquainted with each other, learn their way around campus and find ways to connect with the community. Join the Community Service Board for Senior Saturdays. Senior Saturdays provides an opportunity for Shockers to interact with local seniors and at Larksfield Senior Living Community. Volunteers may assist with various tasks including yard work, playing games, reading together or just spend time chatting with seniors. No experience is necessary.

Led by the community-based recovery organization, The Phoenix-Wichita, these meetings will provide a space for grounding meditation and connection with other students in recovery. The first meeting for Spring 2026 will be Tuesday, Feb. 17. No sign-up is required and anyone seeking a recovery space is welcome to join as needed. Each session takes place from 11:30 AM–1:30 PM in RSC 142 and focuses on practical, real‑life financial topics. Learn how to eat well on a budget, understand credit and loans, get started with investing, and navigate major financial decisions through The Game of Life. Current Wichita State students who attend 3 out of 4 Shocker Financial Wellness workshops and complete one Peer Coaching appointment by Friday, May 1 will be entered into a drawing for a Fall 2026 tuition scholarship (non-renewable and in-state value only).
