Wichita State Men's Basketball hosts DePaul in a HUGE non-conference Saturday morning showdown at Charles Koch Arena on Saturday, Dec. 13. Tip off is at 11am. The Fall 2026 WSU I-Corps Cohort will run from Monday, Aug. 17 through Monday, Sept. 28 on Mondays. This hands-on program is built for researchers and early-stage innovators looking to explore and validate the market potential of their ideas. Participating team leads can receive up to $2,000 in funding for completing the program. To apply, a team's Entrepreneurial Lead will need to fill out an interest form. A new sound is taking the stage at Wichita State. The School of Music's new Commercial Music Ensembles give students the opportunity to perform rock, pop, funk, R and B, soul and other contemporary music in a collaborative, high-energy environment. Open to students from all majors, these new ensembles bring together instrumentalists and vocalists from across campus to create, rehearse and perform the music they already know and love. Whether you're pursuing a music degree or looking for a way to keep making music while studying another field, there's a place for you on stage. Shocker Financial Wellness is offering a series of Fall 2026 workshops for Wichita State students. The sessions include Budgeting 101 on Wednesday, Sept. 2, Buying vs. Leasing Cars on Wednesday, Sept. 30, Living On or Off Campus on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Scholarship Tips on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Each workshop runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in RSC 142, and all events are come‑and‑go. Students can also meet with a Peer Financial Coach, who provides free support in budgeting and other areas of personal finance. By attending at least three of the four workshops and completing one Peer Coaching appointment by Friday, May 1, current Wichita State students become eligible for a drawing to win free Spring 2027 tuition, awarded as a non‑renewable, in‑state‑value scholarship.

Welcomefest takes place during the first four weeks of the fall and spring semesters and features dozens of activities. Popular programs awaiting new and returning Shockers include Winter Welcome, the Involvement Fair and much more. Hosted by various student groups and campus departments, most events are free and give all students a chance to get acquainted with each other, learn their way around campus and find ways to connect with the community. Need a powerful reading, writing, studying, and test-taking tool? OSAT will be hosting two open training sessions for Kurzweil 3000. This is an app available for free for all WSU students, staff, and faculty. This event is free to attend and does not require registration. The two dates are Thursday, Aug. 13 from 8:00am to 12:00pm and Friday, Aug. 14 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The training will take place in the Shocker Success Center, Room 106 (Assistive Tech Lab). Philosophy 314, "Introduction to Legal Ethics," is a pre-professional introduction to legal ethics providing a practical approach to ethical decision-making for common ethical issues in civil and criminal law, policing, and corrections, with the theoretical grounding necessary to adapt and apply these skills to new and changing contexts. This course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00AM to 12:15PM in Lindquist Hall 207 during the Fall 2026 semester.
