A New Sound Is Taking the Stage.

A new sound is taking the stage at Wichita State. The School of Music's new Commercial Music Ensembles give students the opportunity to perform rock, pop, funk, R and B, soul and other contemporary music in a collaborative, high-energy environment. Open to students from all majors, these new ensembles bring together instrumentalists and vocalists from across campus to create, rehearse and perform the music they already know and love. Whether you're pursuing a music degree or looking for a way to keep making music while studying another field, there's a place for you on stage. Bring the music on your playlist to life and help shape the sound of Wichita State's newest ensembles. Interested in learning more? Contact Prof. William Flynn at william.flynn@wichita.edu.

What is a Safety Timer in the Rave Guardian App?

The RAVE app offers the opportunity to always have someone to walk with, virtually day or night with the Safety Timer. You add WSU police, friends or family as your guardians. Set the timer when you are going from one place to another. When you get there you turn it off. If you don't the app sends a notification to those you selected and they know to check on you. When would you use this? Walking to your car at night, meeting someone new from social media, going somewhere unfamiliar, walking back to the dorm after a late class or event? It does not track you 24/7. Location is only one when you choose. Turn on location services for the most accurate help if you do happen to need it. Add University Police as a guardian for an extra layer of security on campus. Questions? Call 316-978-3450.

Outdoor emergency phones.

Blue light emergency phones are all over campus in case of emergency. Hitting the button is a direct line to University Police. Can't talk-no worries, an officer is automatically dispatched to your location. Our officers have less than 3 minute response time.

Lost Something? Found Something?

The WSU Police Department is the Campus Lost and Found. They take reports of missing items and keep found items for 30 days. If you have lost something call 316-978-3450 they may have already found it. Tag it Don't Lose It. Be sure to label your supplies-notebooks, binders, calculators with at minimum your WSU ID, your name and phone number would be better. They also suggest setting your lost screen message on computers, tablets or phones to your contact information or to someone who they can get ahold of to get your items back to you. The sooner you report the better chance you have getting your item back-they only keep found items for 30 days. Any questions. Call WSU Police at 316-978-3450.
