Christian Challenge is holding its annual back-to-school event, The Launch, on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 PM on the throwing fields south of Koch Arena. The event will include outdoors games, free ice cream, music, a giveaway, and an opportunity to connect with other students. This event is open to all students.

Shocker Financial Wellness is offering a series of Fall 2026 workshops for Wichita State students. The sessions include Budgeting 101 on Wednesday, Sept. 2, Buying vs. Leasing Cars on Wednesday, Sept. 30, Living On or Off Campus on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Scholarship Tips on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Each workshop runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in RSC 142, and all events are come‑and‑go. Students can also meet with a Peer Financial Coach, who provides free support in budgeting and other areas of personal finance. By attending at least three of the four workshops and completing one Peer Coaching appointment by Friday, May 1, current Wichita State students become eligible for a drawing to win free Spring 2027 tuition, awarded as a non‑renewable, in‑state‑value scholarship.

The RAVE app offers the opportunity to always have someone to walk with, virtually day or night with the Safety Timer. You add WSU police, friends or family as your guardians. Set the timer when you are going from one place to another. When you get there you turn it off. If you don't the app sends a notification to those you selected and they know to check on you. When would you use this? Walking to your car at night, meeting someone new from social media, going somewhere unfamiliar, walking back to the dorm after a late class or event? It does not track you 24/7. Location is only one when you choose. Turn on location services for the most accurate help if you do happen to need it. The WSU Police Department is the Campus Lost and Found. They take reports of missing items and keep found items for 30 days. If you have lost something call 316-978-3450 they may have already found it. Tag it Don't Lose It. Be sure to label your supplies-notebooks, binders, calculators with at minimum your WSU ID, your name and phone number would be better. They also suggest setting your lost screen message on computers, tablets or phones to your contact information or to someone who they can get ahold of to get your items back to you. If you have a parking or traffic citation dated May-August you are eligible to donate to get your fines waived.
