The WSU Police Department is the Campus Lost and Found. They take reports of missing items and keep found items for 30 days. If you have lost something call 316-978-3450 they may have already found it. Tag it Don't Lose It. Be sure to label your supplies-notebooks, binders, calculators with at minimum your WSU ID, your name and phone number would be better. They also suggest setting your lost screen message on computers, tablets or phones to your contact information or to someone who they can get ahold of to get your items back to you. Blue light emergency phones are all over campus in case of emergency. Hitting the button is a direct line to University Police. Can't talk-no worries, an officer is automatically dispatched to your location. Our officers have less than 3 minute response time.
The RAVE app offers the opportunity to always have someone to walk with, virtually day or night with the Safety Timer. You add WSU police, friends or family as your guardians. Set the timer when you are going from one place to another. When you get there you turn it off. If you don't the app sends a notification to those you selected and they know to check on you. When would you use this? Walking to your car at night, meeting someone new from social media, going somewhere unfamiliar, walking back to the dorm after a late class or event? It does not track you 24/7. Location is only one when you choose. Turn on location services for the most accurate help if you do happen to need it. Students can also meet with a Peer Financial Coach, who provides free support in budgeting and other areas of personal finance. By attending at least three of the four workshops and completing one Peer Coaching appointment by Friday, May 1, current Wichita State students become eligible for a drawing to win free Spring 2027 tuition, awarded as a non‑renewable, in‑state‑value scholarship.
