The Heskett Center has modified hours for Spring Break. We are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday through Friday, 1-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Help WSU & the national McBEE campus consortium strengthen data driven practices in regards to campus safety by completing the WSU/McBEE Campus Safety Survey accessed through the myWSU portal now through April 7th, 2018. The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete and students participating in the research will be entered into one of two drawings. A total of four $250 scholarships and 14-second place $50 Amazon Gift Cards will be given out.

Are you concerned about your company’s intellectual property? Come to the Business Booster series on March 16th and learn first-hand from a WSU patent attorney! “Protection is Everything: Intellectual Property,” Friday, March 16th, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Devlin Hall. Registration for the 5th Annual Gender & Sexuality in Kansas Conference, to be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 is now live. Go to www.wichita.edu/genderconference register. The event, which will be held on the second floor of the RSC, is free and open to all. Attendees are welcome to drop in out throughout the day.

Ulrich Museum is featuring a talk from Dr. Robin Henry to speak about artist-turned-architect Luis Jiménez, artwork to examine the absurdity of American racism. Wednesday, March 14, 5:30 p.m. The reception is at 6 p.m. This program is free and open to the public.

The Lambda Alpha Symposium was created to encourage and recognize student research in the field of anthropology. The symposium provides students an opportunity to present a 15-minute presentation and discuss current research in an atmosphere conducive to professional development. At the end of the event, three judges will announce a winner, who will be given a prize of $100. Additionally, an award will be given for best Undergraduate presentation. Identify and apply key methods, tools, and resources for successful archival research projects in our workshop on March 16 from noon to 1:15 pm in RM 217, Ablah Library.

Learn all the steps to create a literature review, from conducting comprehensive research to synthesizing perspectives to presenting your findings. This workshop will go from Noon to 1:15 p.m. on March 30 in Ablah Library, Room 217.

Learn how to conduct a patent search using keywords and classification using free online patent databases at our workshop from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on March 27 in Ablah Library, Room 217.

Did you know that Special Collections has digital materials available through the library website? Special Collections is not limited to traditional sources and has some surprising materials. We have photos of graffiti murals, materials documenting the connection between Kansas basketball and the 1936 Olympics, Bonaparte Family Papers, over 300 maps, and so much more. This workshop will highlight some of our most unexpected digital treasures. Thursday, April 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Ablah Library, Room 217.
