Bassi retired from Yum in 2005; for his last eight years there he was President and then Chairman of Yum Restaurants International responsible for more than 13,000 restaurants scattered across more than 100 countries and generating more than $600 million in operating profit in 2005 (this same business exceeded $1.5 billion in profit in 2012)
