Here are your Wichita State University digital signage announcements for Monday, August 19th through Sunday, August 25th, 2019:

The Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes is kicking off the fall semester with some great deals! From August 19–30, we’re offering $2 hot dogs and FREE billiards all day, every day! The free billiards offer requires at least one Shocker ID Card per group. We’re excited to start another great year in the SSGL!

Come join Preventing Suicide training provided by Counseling and Prevention Services On Aug 23 and learn more about how to prevent suicide in our community. This training is part of the #WSUWeSupportU campaign and covers signs that someone may need additional support, how to start conversations with people who may need help, and the resources that are available both at WSU and in the community.

Join Campus Recreation and Wellness Services at the Heskett Center for a welcome to campus! This is a FREE event open to students, faculty, and staff. This event showcases all the programs and services we offer, plus free t-shirts!

A support group facilitated by the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center in partnership with CAPS. This group will focus on healing from traumatic experiences. Group members will explore the healing process, coping mechanisms, and learn how to identify and manage triggers.

Need a place to study? The Rhatigan Student Center now has a daily, designated study room! Each day, the RSC’s Event Services office will designate an open room as the official “study room” of the day! The designated room will be posted each morning outside of the Event Services office (RSC 234) or check the digital screens throughout the RSC. The doors will be unlocked and open to students to come and go as they please!

The Involvement Fair is an opportunity for Wichita State students to learn about WSU Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). Involvement in co-curricular experiences is one of the most important parts of having a successful college career! There are over 300 student organizations to choose from. Wondering where to start? Friday poker is back at the Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes! Two FREE tournaments are offered every Friday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Each weekly winner receives $10 cash and qualifies for our semester championship tournament in December which awards $100 to the winner and $50 to the runner-up. Join the Navigators this Friday after Clash of Colleges for Ultimate Frisbee at the fields south of Koch Arena! All skill levels are welcome!

Navigators meets every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in Hubbard 209.

The Navigators want you to join them to worship God under the stars. Thursday, August 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Duerksen Amphitheater. We’ll have free pancakes afterward!

Join Counseling and Prevention Services again this semester for Keep Calm & Breathe On! Build structured relaxation time into your life and learn techniques to do relaxation on your own. You will be led in meditation, mindfulness and relaxation practices. The meetings are every Wednesday from 12:15-12:45 p.m. in RSC 257. Join the Rhatigan Student Center and University Dining Services for their Kick-Off Concert to start out the school year! Local band Annie Up will be providing the tunes and there will be free refreshments, so stop on by! Monday, August 19 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the RSC East Courtyard.
