Sasha Radunovich played for the Shockers from 1985-89. While his basketball career at WSU is noteworthy, his success in the business world is what he prefers you learn from.
We discuss how he chafed at coach Eddie Fogler’s rules as a Shocker and then saw the wisdom in that structure later in life. Radunovich reveals the lightning-fast recruiting visit with coach Gene Smithson that led him to WSU. We also discuss how he co-founded Black Sheep Homes in Europe and why athletes need to be prepared for the real world – personally and professionally – after the ball stops bouncing.
Of course, we discuss the famous “ball between the legs,” trick (2:10 mark of this YouTube video) that became his signature moment.
A 6-foot-10 center, Radunovich averaged 12.2 points and 5.9 rebounds for his career and earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in 1988 after averaging 14.1 points and 7.2 rebounds. The Shockers played in the 1987 and 1988 NCAA Tournaments and the NIT in 1989.
