WSU Theatre presents its new movie, Sidekicks! What happens when the world’s superheroes go underground, they leave their sidekicks in charge, of course! When evil rears is ugly head, the Sidekicks must get past their bickering to save the world! This is a new comedy movie from WSU Theatre. April 13-14 at The Welsbacher Theatre. Due to unforseen weather changes, we have rescheduled Tie- Dye Tuesday to Tuesday, April 10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the RSC North Patio. Make your own FREE tie-dye t-shirt with Student Activities Council! Make sure to decorate a t-shirt while supplies last. One t-shirt per WSU student only. There will be delicious Pakistani Food, Live Music performances, a Guest Speaker and Trivia. We’ll also be announcing our new Cabinet for the year 2018-2019. Tickets are $5 per person which can be purchased ahead of time or pay by cash at the door. Pakistani culture has it’s own significance around the globe and we’re here to promote it at Wichita State University. This event will held at Rhatigan Student Center in Beggs Ballroom on April 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Student Activities Council is hosting its 25th Annual Family Carnival on Saturday April 21st from 1PM to 4PM at the Rhatigan Student Center East Courtyard! Family Carnival is a fun-filled day that includes games, inflatables, a petting zoo and more!

Come to the University Libraries’ Citation Searching and Altmetrics for Faculty and Other Researchers workshop from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 in Room 217, Ablah Library.

Vasanth – colors of INDIA is one of the biggest events that Indian Students Association hosts in the spring semester. A colorful night filled with entertainment and extravagance. We have always been in a front to spread the culture and traditional essence of INDIA. The purpose of the event is to enrich and exhibit the cultural habits, traditions, costumes, religions, languages and dialects spread across INDIA at Wichita State. Spring Exhibition Opening – Music, dance, parade and pageantry fill the evening of our spring feast of our opening exhibition, “EN MAS: Carnival and Performance Art of the Caribbean”. Explore the galleries and venture amongst the works of nine exhibition artists as they explore that history of performance art related to the traditions of Caribbean Carnival. Saturday, April 21, 7 – 9 p.m. at the Ulrich Museum of Art. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

Learn and practice using the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition style to write and format research papers and citation lists in our workshop from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 pm on April 13 in Room 217, Ablah Library.

Interested in graphic design but unsure where to begin? In this hands-on workshop we will explore freely available graphic design software programs for photo editing and digital illustration. Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. is hosting their annual Clothesline Project on April 30, 2018 from 10 a.m.-12:30 in the Rhatigan Student Center Room 142. The Clothesline Project is a campaign that brings awareness to the unique stories and experiences of survivors of gender-based violence within the community. April 10th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., be sure to enjoy INTERFEST, the international food festival in the Neff Hall Courtyard. Each semester WSU Students prepare and sell dishes from their native countries for this event. The festival provides a platform for inter-cultural sharing where the WSU Community and visitors can try out diverse cuisine and learn about the origins and cultural significance of a particular dish. A great opportunity to structure relaxation into your week, Keep Calm and Breathe On will teach relaxation, mindfulness and meditation techniques, with the overall goal of managing stress, increasing well-being and leading a healthier life. Every Wednesday 12:15-12:45 p.m. in RSC 257.

Customize citation styles, edit parenthetical citations, and sync multiple devices using this citation management software provided by WSU. The “Endnote Optimization Strategies” workshop is from Noon to 1:15 p.m. on April 20 in RM 217, Ablah library, and is included in the Graduate School Professional Development Series.

Learn how to search for images, music, and videos that are free from copyright and legal restrictions so you can share, modify, or repurpose them for any creative project. We will discuss Creative Commons, public domain, and other alternatives to restricted material then explore various resources and tools for finding free media online. “Finding Freely Available Media.” Thursday, April 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Ablah Library, Room 217.

A guest panel from WSU Ventures will discuss next steps for inventors who need fund, develop, commercialize, or license their product. The workshop will be on April 24 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the lower level of Ablah Library.

Learn how to search for patents in some of the library’s subscription databases such as SciFinder Scholar and Google Scholar. Databases are accessible to students, staff, faculty, and community users.
