Here are your Wichita State University digital signage announcements for Monday, November 6th through Sunday, November 12th, 2017: In honor of Veterans Day on Saturday, November 11, veterans and active duty military can purchase one WSU imprinted item in the University Bookstore for 20% off that day, during regular store hours of 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Some exclusions apply. Must present military ID to participate. Thank you for your service!

In honor of Veterans Day on Saturday, November 11, veterans and active duty military and their families can enjoy free cosmic bowling in the Shocker Sports grill & Lanes from 6 p.m.-Midnight. Must present military ID to participate. We thank you for your service and sacrifice!

Stop by the Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes 2 hours prior to all men’s basketball games to enjoy great game day specials on food and drinks! Perfect place for pre-game for home games or to catch an away game on all of our TV’s

Stop by the Rhatigan Student Center every Wednesday for the live music series, RSC Unplugged. RSC Unplugged for Wednesday, November 8 features Randy Fields Combo from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the RSC’s Fast Break Lounge. Grab a cup of coffee and relax with some great music!

Stop by the University Bookstore from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. November 8 and 9 to find out information on class rings and to order graduation announcements. Hosted by CB Graduation Announcements/Balfour.

Ulrich Museum will host an Artist Talk: Jamal Cyrus “Close to Home” on Tuesday, November 28. Jamal Cyrus will discuss his approach to materials and his research into and interest in issues of site and history, culture, and geology. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Ulrich Museum and the program begins at 6:15 p.m. in the CAC Theater.

Join the Office of First-Year Programs and Marshallville on Friday, November 10th for Shocker Season Starter. This event will feature face painting, food, a DJ, games and prizes. We will be out in the Shocker Hall Courtyard Area from 4pm-7pm.

The Writing Now/Reading Now series presents Yannick Murphy. She is the author of ten novels, short stories, and picture books. The event will be on Thursday, November 9 at the Ulrich Museum of Art. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and reading begins at 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

Student Activities Council presents Family Movie on Friday, November 11th at 3 p.m. in RSC 3rd floor, Beggs Ballroom. This event is free for students with Shocker ID. Watch the classic Disney film, Monsters Inc. with snacks and fun activities like making your own monster slime! Join Sully and Mike on their adventure through Monsters Incorporated as they try to get Boo back to the human world! The Academy for Effective Teaching urges all eligible students to vote for their outstanding faculty member at WSU. WSU School of Music master class with Angela Parrish. 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14 in Miller Concert Hall the cost is free. A graduate of Wichita State and Northern Colorado University, Angela Parrish now resides in Los Angeles. She is the singer in the opening song of the movie “La La Land.”

SAC, the Student Activities Council presents Brown Bag BINGO on Thursday, November 9 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Get a chance to is win a random prize from a brown bag. Bring your lunch in a brown bag and joining SAC as we play tradition BINGO for prizes ranging from laundry supplies to snacks and much more. Luc Bensimon will speak about his work with BTMI (Black Transgender Men International) as well as his own story as a black trans man in Kansas. He will use his voice to empower and embrace those who feel different.

The Graduate School announces a November 10 submission deadline for Capitol Graduate Research Summit (CGRS) abstracts. Students who have research that is relevant to the state of KS have an opportunity to present a poster on their “hot topic” at the Capitol in Topeka on February 20, 2018. Cash prizes are awarded!
