The Alpha Theta chapter of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. is hosting its 4th Annual Clothesline Project on Tuesday, November 28 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in RSC 142. The Clothesline Project is a visual representation of the reality of gender based violence. A clothesline of t-shirts with survivor’s stories are hung to tell their stories and experiences. Gender Diversity Training will cover de-mystifying the transitioning process, challenges posed here at WSU, myths, misconceptions and language. EPICS in IEEE at WSU in collaboration with EECS Department Student Honor Society, IEEE-HKN, is looking for volunteers to work on an Engineering community service project building Ride on Cars for Children with Disabilities. Script: SAVE THE DATE FOR THE 2017 AD ASTRA CONFERENCE! The Ad Astra Conference brings first-generation students from universities across Kansas together for a common experience with a desired outcome of greater persistence to graduation and a better prepared Kansas workforce.
Extra Notes: This conference is a two-day event where first-generation college students across the state meet each other, share common challenges and opportunities and get information about how to better understand the college experience and society. This conference is scheduled to be held again at Wichita State University from Friday, November 3 to Saturday, November 4. More details and registration will be released at a later date.
